Startup School, Google’s Virtual Course for Startups
Google officially launched the Startup School for the founders of startups ( startup ) in Asia Pacific. Startup School is a series of virtual courses that are conducted free of charge for the founder and his team.
This is not Google’s first step towards equipping startups to tackle big problems. However, starting last year, this technology company was using the digital platform thoroughly for startup training due to the pandemic.
“We have actually provided training programs for startups for years. Last year was our first fully digital platform. And, we have developed this Startup School to equip startups to be able to solve major problems in our region, “said Michael Kim, Head of Google for Startups Asia Pacific.
A number of startups in Indonesia already have training experience with Google for Startups. One of them is the Co-Founder of Gadjian Afia Fitriati who graduated from the Google for Startups program entitled Immersion: Women Founders program in November 2020. Gadjian itself is a payroll application, Human Resources (HR) and software for payroll .
“I hope that through this program we can grow faster and help more SMEs in the region,” said Afia.
Going forward, Google for Startups hopes to reach more startups with more varied products and services.
“Each session will be hosted by Googlers, entrepreneurs and industry figures from around the world. We will conduct one training per week for the next 12 weeks. Participants can choose a variety of topics and register for courses that best suit their goals, “concluded Michael.
